Summer Classes are offered in 1-week segments and billed through TADS on May 15, payment is due by June 1. If there is not enough interest by June 1 for the class, it will be canceled. Please see the OLG Academy Policies page for more information about Summer Class Policies.


Book Clubs

Mrs. C Book Club: June 10-13, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Come join Mrs. C for four days of reading The Secret Garden. You will have to bring your book and your reading voice. Mrs. C will provide your snack and art project. Looking forward to days of fun! $80/student.

Entering 3rd Grade: July 15-18, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Entering 4th Grade: July 29-Aug 1, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Entering 5th Grade: Aug 5-7, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Join Mrs. Jaax as you read a novel. This enriching experience will help sharpen those deep questioning skills and prepare you for the start of a fresh chapter. Snack will be provided. Book will be determined/provided based on participants. $60/student.  

Classes

Mystery Mania: June 3-6 or June 10-13, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Science, Math and LA. Join OLG educators for a week full of mystery. Mystery math problems, Mystery story writing, and Mystery experiments. Fun for all ages! $200/student.

Movie Analysis Class: June 3-6 or July 29-August 1, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Grab your popcorn and favorite drink. Spend the first half of each day watching a great children’s movie, and spend the second half of each day in discussion groups learning about themes, characters, and story structure. These skills will help you in any LA class, regardless of age or grade. $180/student.

Spanish Immersion: June 3-6 or June 10-13, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Learning about Spanish speaking countries through cultural games, music, food, dances and cultural art. Keep your Spanish skills sharp this summer with Señora Fagerlie! Grades K-5. $180/student.

Finance Basics: June 10-13, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Take one week to learn the basics of money, finance, and savings. Learn new concepts through fun activities, discussions, and games. Learn how to save money, how to spend it properly, the basics of rent vs own, wage vs salary, and more concepts that all kids should have a basic understanding of. $180/student.

Critical Thinking: June 17-20, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Master the art of thinking outside the box. Spend one week learning the most important skill in school, work, and everyday life. Find new ways to look at the world through activities, puzzles, and games. We will spend one week discovering how useful problem solving truly is. $180/student.

Games, Games, Games: June 24-27, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Science, Math and LA. Join OLG educators for fun game based learning. Probability of Winning, Grammar Bowl, and Experiment Extravaganza. Fun for all ages! $200/student.

Fitness/Health and Wellness: June 24-27 or August 5-8, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Our bodies and minds are the most important things we have! Spend the first half of each day learning about the importance of sleep, water, eating healthy, and more. Then spend the second half getting your exercise for the day. Both halves are full of fun games to keep everyone excited! Class will be held outside weather permitting. $180/student.

Around the World: July 8-11, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Science, Math and LA. Join OLG educators for fun exploring around the world. Math problems from different areas of the world. Writing about different areas of the world and learning about the different biomes, natural resources and hazards. Volcano eruptions anyone?!? Fun for all ages! $200/student.

Coding Around: July 8-11, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Grades 4-8. Get into coding this summer with Coding Around! We will be discovering what it is like to be a programmer. We will be using different coding languages and figuring out how to use them. We will be doing different programs throughout the week including Hour of Code, Code.org, Scratch and Tynker to name a few. We are going to let our imaginations and computer skills loose and see what happens. $180/student.

Math/STEM exploration with Ms. Maslowski: July 8-11, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Grades 4-6. Do you love to learn math, solve problems, build and tinker with everyday items, and explore the world of engineering? Come and have fun creating and exploring math and STEM challenges this week!  $180/student.

Team Sports: July 8-11, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Whether it be playing a sport, working on a group project, or starting a summer job, understanding the skill of teamwork will set you up for great success. What better way to learn this than through sports! Spend each day playing different games learning how to rely on your teammates, be a strong leader, and fully understand what makes a team great! Class will be held outside weather permitting. $180/student.

Theater and Improvisation Camp: July 15-18, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Build confidence, find courage, and learn to think outside the box in this theater camp. Spend the first half of each day playing improv games, and then finish each day preparing a scene. At the end of the camp, all parents are invited to their very own private show! $180/student.

Get Ready for School Classes

Countdown to Kindergarten: August 5 - 8, 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Are you excited to join the OLG family? We can't wait for you to start Kindergarten! Join us for a week of adventure as we explore and learn together. Every day will celebrate a new theme as we have fun learning through stories, crafts, projects, and exploration. We can't wait to meet you! This camp is led by wonderful OLG Staff and OLG middle school volunteers. $200/student. Due to the popularity of this class, students can only sign up for one time slot.

Jump-Start to Middle School: August 5 - 7, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Middle School Jump Start! Join OLG educators to jump start your middle school experience! We will immerse ourselves in middle school fun and routines to practice time management, planning, self-advocacy, procedures and classroom expectations, note taking, study skills, and locker combinations! This is for students entering 6th grade or new OLG Middle Schoolers. $200/student. Due to the popularity of this class, students can only sign up for one time slot.

Solnitzsky's Vivacious Writing Class: August 5 - 8, 9:30 AM - 12:30 AM 
Does your future high school freshman want one last chance to practice his/her skills before plunging into high school English? In this class we will review punctuation, usage, important structures in writing, and comprehension and annotation strategies so that your student feels extra prepared going into 9th grade. There will also be time each day to practice writing with Mrs. Solnitzky’s prompts or work on editing those summer reading essays and assignments high schools love to assign! $180/student.
